Dearest Denmark,
Well I guess this is where our adventure begins. Shall I introduce myself? My parents named me Helen, a rather old fashioned moniker but I am rather fond of it. I'm 20 years of age and from the land flowing with eucalyptus and wool - i.e. Australia. More precisely, Melbourne Australia.
As a child, I yearned to see the world as all children inevitably do. But I wanted, in particular, to see a vista so unlike the world I grew up in. I desired to see sprawling hills, rough coasts and towering mountains rather than the flat, sun parched land I called home. Thus began my infatuation with you, dear Denmark. You are a land as small as mine is wide, as sprawling as mine is level and as ancient as mine is brand new. And I deeply long to one day see you with my own eyes.
This will be our journey together. The start of a modern day fairytale. The start of an adventure. I cannot wait to wander through the streets of Copenhagen, explore the ports of Aarhus or climb Himmelbjerget. This... is just the beginning.
Yours sincerely,
Helen
